Hi, welcome to my recipe website.
I want to help people with cooking by the season with recipes based mostly on the seasons and the months in the temperate climate of northwestern Europe. I like to cook mostly with what the seasons offer me. I cook vegetarian almost exclusively and a lot is vegan as well. I like to cook in a balanced way which means healthy most of the time but satisfying and with making exceptions.
For the seasons I will stick to the calendar classification and not the meteorological classification for usability reasons. This means spring will start around the 21th of March, summer around the 21th of June etc.
For the seasons and months in the categories and tags I stick mostly to when the produce is fresh available (as far as I know). But since many ingredients are available out of cans and the freezer I make exceptions for this like when it’s an ingredient with a lesser role in the recipe, when it is a lot easier to get it out of a can or the freezer or other considerations. So the seasonal dividing lines are not hard: you will find recipes from other seasons which you can make with freezer or can ingredients.
