I love the colour of this smoothie and the taste as well. The spirulina gives a nice extra taste and this beautiful colour. Spirulina comes from algae. I used some blood oranges in this smoothie but you can use normal oranges for this recipe as well.
Extra supplies needed: a blender
For 2 small glasses:
– 1/2 stump of chicory and some leaves. You can eat the middle of the chicory but it’s more bitter and many people don’t eat it. I left it out for this recipe (you can use it for something else) but I add it in others. You can try if you like it.
– 1 frozen banana. Remove the peel before you put it into the freezer. If you already cut it into parts before putting it in the freezer it blends more easily.
– 1 (blood) orange
– 150ml oat milk
– 100ml water
– 2 tablespoons of (soy) yogurt
– 1/2 teaspoon spirulina
Add all ingredients to the blender except for some chicory leaves and mix together. Add the chicory leaves on top. You can also keep an orange part and add it to the glass for a nice touch.
On the left you see this smoothie. On the right you see another smoothie (an experiment) made with spirulina and chicory.
I made the smoothie from this post on the 14th of February which I added on the 11th of March from my Instagram to the website.
